When we moved into 3231 W Palmer St. Unit G, we were about to be married. Searching for our first family home was exhausting, and we initially felt confused and overwhelmed by all of the choices. We knew we wanted to live in the heart of Logan Square, but we didn’t think that it would be available to us.  However, once we gave this condo a chance, we knew we had found our home.  The building sits at the western end of Palmer Square Park, which is a beautiful stretch of trees and greenery with a playground and running path too.

We have spent countless weekends running our dogs ragged there and enjoying the changes in the seasons.  Palmer Street is also tree-lined and nicely manicured, which lends its own homey charm. All of the neighbors are friendly, and we soon began to make acquaintances with all of the familiar faces that we saw bustling around the area with us. It was the perfect place to begin our life together. While some people may have some doubts about garden units (we did too!), I can say that this unit has far and away exceeded all of our expectations.

Recently remodeled by CE Wurzer Builders, this condo has every amenity that you could ask for. Gorgeous cherry colored wood flooring, granite countertops, and arched entrances to the main hall give this space an inviting feel. The full-sized laundry room has provided extra storage space and saved us countless hours of housework. The gated parking space in the back has been a life-saver on more than once occasion, too. The space has held up to everything that all seasons have thrown at it over the years; from torrential rains to blistering hot summers, our home has kept us cozy and comfortable through it all.

The three bedrooms have come in handy as time has passed. We frequently have house guests who are eager for a chance to visit the neighborhood and check out all Chicago has to offer, and the third bonus room has served as everything from an office space to a dining room for our annual holiday parties. The layout of the condo has allowed our family to grow and change throughout the years, and we have enjoyed every moment of it. The outdoor patio space is also generously sized, allowing us to hone our barbecue skills during the warmer months.

While the features of the condo speak for themselves, we cannot forget how amazing this location has turned out to be. We are steps away from the Milwaukee St Art Fairs, the Logan Square Farmers Market, and the brand new 606 Trail all at once! Calmer evenings call for a movie at the newly remodeled Logan Theater, a local view and brew, while weekend free time can be spent sipping cocktails at some of the hottest new bars and restaurants Chicago has to offer.  Summer months are perfect for checking out the huge patio at Parson’s Chicken &Fish, while colder winter months are better spent checking out the wine selection inside at Webster’s Wine Bar. The best part is both places are less than a 10 minute walk away!  The closest bar is Scofflaw, and having that as our go-to is pretty hard to beat. It’s tough to keep up with all of the new additions to the neighborhood, but we have had a blast trying.

Schools:

One of the most popular schools in our location is the Darwin Elementary School. It is well known in our community for its English Spanish Dual Language Program and their Leader in Me process which integrates leadership development that staff, students and parents adopt as a common language, just the way any person does with the blog by AJ Hoge when they are learning English. Extra Curricular activites that the kids will surely enjoy. Darwin Elementary School is located at 3116 W Belden Ave. In the Logan Square neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago.
