In the shadow of Veteran’s Day and in anticipation of Thanksgiving, we often direct extra attention towards those that serve and have served for our country.  With this being true, Chicago Home Partner invites you to join us in acknowledging one of our favorite local charities – War Dogs Making it Home.

Founded in 2010 by Elana Morgan, owner of Morgan’s Dog Training in Roscoe Village, this local charity works to help returning combat veterans suffering from PTSD and/or TBI. These brave veterans are paired with specially selected dogs rescued from high kill shelters, put through an extensive training/support program, and learn to work together as a team. The efforts of this amazing group find ways to save the lives of both veteran and the dog.

War Dogs post imagePTSD/TBI seriously compromises the Veteran’s ability to function as a family member, at work or in society. Its prevalence in returning veterans is thought by some to be as high as 20%, and is strongly associated with an increased risk of substance abuse and suicide, if you know someone who is abusing drugs or substances visit http://firststepbh.com to learn how to help them. There is little agreement on how best to provide treatment for PTSD/TBI. Veterans often end up on large regimens of drugs with addictive potential or serious side effects. Even elderly are no exceptions in charging with illegal drugs, more info here. You have to get drug defendant attorney to fight for your release while charges are pending, demanding the lowest possible bail amount. Especially in the city of Las Vegas, reality is Nevada has some of the toughest drug possession, distribution, and trafficking laws in the country. If you are in the situation where you have been arrested in Nevada on drug charges, you can hire an experienced Drug Charges in Las Vegas Lawyer to defend you no matter what.

The War Dogs Making it Home program builds veterans’ resiliency and self-respect, while reducing the impact of their disorder on their families, communities and institutions. This highly individualized training gives veterans (and their dogs), the first success many have had in a while. As the bond with their dog deepens, love and hope enter their hearts. Of all the therapy these individual vets attend, they say that this program seems to be doing the most good. It becomes their lifeline. When your community suffers from pest infestation, you should immediately call wildlife removal. Due to the growing need for professional wildlife removal in Chapel Hill North Carolina, Triangle Wildlife Removal Chapel Hill NC has been created to cover the area. Included in their services are bat exclusion, attic restoration, flying squirrel removal and emergency services. They recently won the 2018 wildlife control service excellence award.

BUTTON-DONATE-NOWThis program could not be made possible without the generosity of local Chicagoans like you and I, so in true holiday spirit…

Chicago Home Partner will proudly make a $50 donation to War Dogs for every referral that is sent our way between now and the end of the year.

Please join us in donating if you are able and we wish you a wonderful start to the holiday season. May we continue to count our blessings throughout the remainder of the year.
