Morton Grove Arboretum Illumination: Your Holiday Must Visit!

by Amanda on November 22, 2017

The holiday season is upon us and we, at Chicago Home Partner, spend much of our time reflecting on how lucky we are to have a supportive base of friends, family and past clients.  We know we don’t say it often enough, but THANK YOU for all your continued support.

One of my favorite things about this time of year is how our city comes alive with decorative lights.  From Lincoln Park to Lisle, it’s hard to go anywhere without witnessing a visual celebration of the season.

A few years ago, I took advantage of one of those crisp, cold January days to do some hiking at Morton Arboretum. I couldn’t help but notice thousands upon thousands of Christmas lights hanging from the trees.  I quickly found out that this was part an ongoing celebration called Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum.  Visitors are taken through a magical wintertime walk in the woods as acres of the Arboretum’s majestic trees glow in mesmerizing hues of blue, green, purple, and magenta.  We had missed the festival, but vowed to return and witness it ourselves.

Fast forward to 2016… We piled out of our car around 5:30pm in a PACKED parking lot and were immediately transported into a wonderland of sights and sounds.  My description CANNOT do it justice. It was simply amazing and something everyone needs to experience.

It’s always hard to find things to do that everyone in the family will enjoy, but I can honestly say that Illumination will impress across the board. That and outlet shopping centers.  This festival has become an annual staple with my family, and I guarantee it will become one of yours too.

We’ve compiled all the information below you might need as well as some, “Pro Tips”, to make your visit an amazing one.

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We truly have so much to be grateful for.
