When I was searching for my first Chicago home, I expected to be able to just ‘feel’ when I found the right place for me, and that’s exactly what happened. As soon as I walked into Unit 3, I immediately felt happy, calm and at home. Even at that first showing in the cold of March, the bright and sunny interior warmed my heart.
Little did I know that the same front wall of windows would continue to bring me happiness as I worked from home through a global pandemic. The extended time at home actually made me appreciate everything the condo afforded me even more. The large kitchen gave me plenty of space for cooking and the light-filled dining room provided an inviting space for everything from dinner parties to hangs with friends over glasses of wine.
The second bedroom, large and spacious, served many purposes over the years. From housing for visiting guests to Peloton room and home office, it always gave me space to spread out and adapt.
After I moved in, I quickly realized how lucky I was to have snatched up my new home. Units rarely turn over here for many, varied reasons. The building itself is a great community, I truly have neighbors I can rely on, and the large backyard gets utilized for everything from lunch breaks in the sun to family movie nights.
Finally, the location cannot be beat, steps from everything Southport has to offer yet far enough from Wrigley to avoid game day crowds. There’s also easy street parking, transportation access, and amazing local school options.
I’m moving into a different phase of my life, but I look forward to seeing who makes this their new home. I hope they get as much enjoyment out of it as I did these past five years.
