2019 Chicago Real Estate Forecast & 2018 Year in Review

by Amanda on February 23, 2019

As Chicago real estate market experts, we take immense pride in releasing our 8th annual “Chicago Real Estate Roundup”, where we discuss the year in review and explain our predictions for the year to come. Our predictions for 2018 and results are listed below.

Our 2018 predictions were spot on with the exception of “seller realism” over property pricing. Many non-CHP sellers lacked the guidance or market insight and overpriced their homes in an extremely competitive market. Where buyers flat-out refused to overpay, sellers and agents continued to test the market – resulting in a 16% increase of expired, (failed), listings for 2018.

Conversely, Chicago Home Partner listings sold quickly, and at nearly full price, while our buyers secured homes at or below market value.   With over 135 transactions representing $53 million in closed sales, we are humbled by the success that was only possible by you, our most valuable asset, and the trust you place in us.

We hope you enjoy the report and please feel free to reach out to us with ANY questions you might have!
