It seems as if spring has finally decided to visit our fair city of Chicago and grace us with some wonderful weather. However before we start complaining about the heat (or humidity), let’s not forget that only weeks ago we were wearing winter clothes…
We, at Chicago Home Partner, decided to take a different approach this month with our “token of value” for you. Where we typically focus on all things EXCEPT for real estate, we figured it was time to add in some real estate value this month.
As you may know, the Chicago real estate market continues to be one of challenges for both buyers and sellers. “How’s the market?” is a question that I get asked daily from both clients and friends alike. If the answer was only that easy… there is some bad, and some more bad, but there is some good as well. We must remember during times like these that we are in a recovery…even if it doesn’t feel like it!
Because there is such interest in housing prices and neighborhood trends, I have invested in a new program called the Chicago Home Partner Market Snapshot. This free service is available on my website at www.ChicagoHomePartner.com/MarketSnapshot. By filling out the form at the bottom of the page (including zip code and housing type), this will provide you with a detail oriented and quartiled report on your local housing market including median price, active inventory and days on market. A sample of some of the reports are shown below.
However… where this is an excellent tool to see a top level report of the real estate market in your zip code, this does NOT reflect the value of your particular home. Real estate is local – neighborhood by neighborhood and block by block. The overall trend of a zip code does not show a true representation of your home or your neighborhood.
