Your Home for Everything Chicago
The South Loop is one of Chicago’s most attractive neighborhoods thanks to the combination of stylish, modern housing with a plethora of things to do and places to see. Owners of South Loop real estate enjoy a central location with east access to transit and some of the city’s biggest draws just outside of their doors.
If you own South Loop real estate, the Museum Campus, offering some of the city’s best-loved attractions, is right on your doorstep. To check out more than 8000 aquatic animals in the world’s largest outdoor aquarium, head to the Shedd Aquarium. Alternatively, take in the night sky at the Adler Planetarium or marvel at over 20 million specimens from the natural world at The Field Museum.
If you’re more of an outdoor person, there’s always Grant Park. Nicknamed “Chicago’s front yard,” it showcases stunning views across immaculately manicured gardens out to the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan waterfront. When the day is winding down, go support the Bears at Soldier Field.
The South Loop’s status as a major tourist destination means that you’ll be spoiled for choice when you’re in the mood for dining out. Flo & Santos is always a popular option; a hybrid pub, pizzeria, and Polish-American restaurant, it offers a tempting range of delicious dishes, including some truly mouthwatering teriyaki pork wings. For Italian fine dining, try Sofi Restaurant, or hit up the Bohemian House for a relaxed atmosphere and wide array of Czech, German, and Austrian delicacies.
Residents also benefit from a lively and diverse bar scene. If you’re just after a friendly place to sip your beer and take in a Bears or Bulls game, head to Kasey’s Tavern or the Weather Mark Tavern. If you want something a little more intimate, find specialty cocktails, cozy velvet couches, and a candle-lit atmosphere at The M Lounge.
The South Loop is served by the following schools:
South Loop is bordered on the north by W. Harrison, on the south by I-55, on the west by I-90, and on the east by Lake Michigan.
The South Loop enjoys a host of connections to the city at large, with three CTA trains service the area. Catch the Red, Green, and Orange lines from Harrison Street and Roosevelt Road to run north into the Loop; the Orange line can even take you directly to Midway Airport in just 30 minutes.
There are also several bus routes. Head north and south on the 3 and 4 on Michigan Avenue, take the 62 and 29 along State Street, the 24 bus up and down Clark Street, or take the 12 east and west to the Museum Campus.
