When we saw our condo on Marshfield, we knew immediately that it was home.  We had seen so many duplex downs in the East Ukrainian Village which looked exactly the same that we had a hard time distinguishing between them after showings.  Our future home had all of the modern amenities of the others, much better proximity to the L than anything we’d seen, but also all of these beautiful Prairie-style details.  From stained glass windows to the inlaid floors, these are all great tributes to Chicago history. If you want a more detailed design for your windows, use vertical blinds of louver shop.

We adored the recessed patio with views of the treetops but private from sidewalk passersby, as well as the ample space downstairs, which future house guests enjoyed as their own suite.  And since we were a newly engaged couple who wanted to start a family one day, we loved the rarely found two bedrooms on the top floor.  Our dream of a family came true in that condo.  One baby girl was quickly followed by another, and we loved raising them there and being able to buy moses baskets for them.

The master bedroom had ample room for a bassinet, and the second upstairs bedroom saw us upgrade from bassinets to cribs to twin beds, with plenty of room for changing tables, toys, dressers, and tons of quickly emerging kids’ art to fill the walls.

As they got older, our girls loved playing ball and using sidewalk chalk in front of the condo, often running into neighborhood friends.  They grew from first steps in the hallway to taking piano lessons from a beloved neighbor.  And Division Street has a ton of kid-friendly amenities, from the new Mr. Dave’s Music and BookClub Chicago to Building Blocks Toys and Sprout Home Chicago, as well as several nearby playgrounds.  The neighbors themselves, from those in the condo building to those on the block are kind and quiet. We’re lucky to have kept many of them as friends.

Speaking of the neighborhood, it really is the best find in Chicago.  It’s so easy to get to the L, several bus lines, the highway, the airport, the Loop, and fun adjacent neighborhoods like the West Loop, Bucktown, Lincoln Park, Logan Square and Old Town.  That said, we could go entire weekends without leaving the neighborhood, because why would you?  You’re just a few steps from all of the great restaurants, bars, shops, clubs and other businesses on Division, Ashland, Chicago and Damen.  A Sunday walk to Milk & Honey for brunch, followed by Wicker Park for the farmer’s market, dog park and playground, maybe Volumes Bookstore or maybe some errands on the way home.  Always a stop by Scone City or another perfect coffee shop for some afternoon snack and a latte (better hit one of those nearby gyms later).  Then grab a drink or a game or dinner or all three back on Division St. that night.  It really doesn’t get much better.

We hope the next owner(s) will love this place as much as we have!
